About This Dog for Adoption

Bruno's ideal home

Bruno will need someone at home most of the day while he settles in to his new environment. Bruno is used to someone being at home most of the day and has is used to sitting on the furniture and sleeping on the human bed. Bruno loves all treats, this will help as rewards for training. He is a little dog with a huge personality. He does pull on the lead, so this will need to be a training focus for his new family. He can become very excitable when he sees you, he does jump up, so again further training around 'paws on the floor' would be beneficial. When he relaxes he just melts into you for a snuggle, he is good to handle, bath, groom and just adores attention.

Could you be Bruno's perfect match?

Bruno requires someone who is committed to all things puppy, even though he is 11 months old he has not had much life experience and he would benefit from further training. He has been loved by his owner and only comes to us due to a change in circumstances. Bruno would like a family who’ll take him on adventures, he travels well in the car, loves to sit beside you on the sofa for a snuggle, he likes treats. Bruno is in foster with another dog and has lived with other dogs and a cat in his previous home. We feel he can live with a neutered active female dog pending a successful meet at the centre in Cumbria.

Cocker Spaniel Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Cocker Spaniel.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Cocker Spaniel Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
