About This Dog for Adoption

Jasper's ideal home

Jasper is a worried boy who would love to find a quiet home. As he has worries around the unknown and isn't keen on handling Jasper is looking for an adult-only home with a secure garden of his own. He also needs to be the only dog in the home. Unfortunately Jasper isn't able to live with cats as he has a history of chasing them. Jasper does have a history of guarding resources that are valuable to him such as toys. He is on a training plan to help support this and this will need to be continued with his new family.

Could you be Jasper's perfect match?

Jasper is a 6-year-old Dachshund/Spaniel cross who came into our care through no fault of his own. He can be a bit aloof at first but does warm up after a day or two. Jasper loves his sniffy walks. He’d be happy to have a wander and then sit with you on a bench watching the world go by. Jasper doesn’t like being left home alone very much so he’d like this to be built up from scratch. Fortunately he’s got a good history of car travel so can join his family out and about instead.

Cocker Spaniel Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Cocker Spaniel.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Cocker Spaniel Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
