About This Dog for Adoption

Teddy's ideal home

Teddy is looking for a quiet yet active home with adopters who will give him plenty of time to settle and come out of his shell. He can be nervous around new people, and takes time to build a bond, so he is looking for a home with children 16 years old who can give him plenty of space. Once he has that bond with you, Teddy really shines and will zoom around playing, so adopters who would like to continue his training and keep his mind busy will be best suited. Whilst he can live with another dog, this dog would need to be very tolerant as Teddy can be boisterous and intense during play. He wouldn’t be suitable to live with cats or small furries. Teddy can be left for 2-4 hours, although this is something that should be build up gradually once he is settled in the home. Teddy will need to meet his adopters multiple times prior to going home so please bear this in mind when applying. Please note that should you be shortlisted, our rehoming process usually takes up to 7 – 10 days, and potential adopters would be required to come up to the centre to meet her within 48hrs of being shortlisted.

Could you be Teddy's perfect match?

Teddy is a 2 year old Cocker Spaniel who is searching for his new best friend in life. Whilst anxious meeting new people initially, once a bond is built he can be a real snuggle bug and very affectionate! Teddy loves toys, and will chase them and zoom around, and is a real delight to watch play! Could you be the home he is looking for?

Cocker Spaniel Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Cocker Spaniel.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Cocker Spaniel Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
