About This Dog for Adoption

Bodhi's ideal home

Bodhi is a three-year-old Cockerpoo with a fun-loving nature and lots of love to offer. He’s seeking active adopters who share his love for the outdoors, and who could dedicate lots of time to him. Bodhi does find alone-time challenging, so a multi-person household is needed, ensuring that there’s always someone around to spend time with him. While Bodhi is a sociable boy and enjoys the company of friendly dogs on his walks, he will need to be the only dog at home, as he struggles to share his favourite things. He’ll also be unsuitable to live with any cats or small furries due to a high-prey drive. The youngest members of his family should be of secondary-school age. Sniffing is really exciting to Bodhi, and he loves to walk where there’s lots of new scents to explore. However, while he usually walks beautifully on lead, he can sometimes pull when eager to get to the next best thing, so needs a family who are confident managing his ‘strength’ in these moments.

Could you be Bodhi's perfect match?

Bodhi is a confident boy and loves to lap up fusses and attention from his humans. Although, he does prefer to be the one to initiate affection, so it’s important to allow him to approach you first when getting to know him. His favourite pastimes include sniffing to his hearts content, using his clever brain while participating in fun training and tucking into his dinner. While he hasn’t yet shown a lot of interest in toys, Bodhi’s playful side is likely to blossom once he’s feeling settled at home.

Cocker Spaniel Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Cocker Spaniel.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Cocker Spaniel Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
