About This Dog for Adoption

Diana's ideal home

1 year old Diana has come to us through no fault of her own along with her best friend Fergie. Diana can be nervous when first meeting new people but will soon ask for a fuss and a cuddle, she can live with children 14+ that understand she sometimes needs to be given some space to chill out. Ideally Dianna would like to find her forever home with her bestie Fergie, she gets a lot of her confidence from Fergie and finds having her by her side a great comfort. She can be wary when meeting other dogs so will not be rehomed with another existing dog in the home but would benefit from ongoing socialisation. Having access to a secure outdoor space is on Diana's wish list to continue with her housetraining, and to begin with someone will need to be around all the time building up leaving alone hours slowly. Fergie is 2 years old and is the more confident girl out of the two, she can sometimes find new environments and new people a bit overwhelming so appreciates it when you go at her pace. Fergie can live with children 14+ and could possible live with another resident calm dog if she is not rehomed with Diana.

Could you be Diana's perfect match?

Diana is still very young and has a unsettled start, given time to adjust in a secure loving home she will be a fantastic family dog. She will need time and patience to help with her confidence, once she knows you Dianna wants all your attention and happily initiates play and cuddles. Fergie is a sweet little girl who enjoys her daily walks and being outdoors having a sniff about, she also enjoys a cuddle once she has got to know you and will also need time and patience as she settles in her new home. If you can offer this pair a forever home together or have the right environment for either Diana or Fergie apply today adding them to your favourites.

Cocker Spaniel Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Cocker Spaniel.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Cocker Spaniel Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
