About This Dog for Adoption

Ted's ideal home

Ted is looking for a quiet home with few visitors and where any children are over the age of 12. He cannot live with cats but he could live with another well matched dog following a successful meet here at the centre. Ted is house trained but will need somebody at home for much of the time while he settles or he can get a little noisy. Ted will require regular trips to the groomers so this cost will need to be considered when applying. He is currently receiving treatment for dry eye that may need to be continued.

Could you be Ted's perfect match?

Ted is rather a worried little chap who will need a little time and patience whilst he finds the courage to say hello in his own time. He walks well on his lead and enjoys his walks, however he can be easily spooked by loud noises. Ted can also be worried in new places and so should always be allowed to take things in his own time and never be forced into situations he finds scary. We have not seen much of Ted's playful side during his stay in kennels but we believe that he does have a love of tennis balls and enjoys a good game of fetch and a tasty snack or two! He is a clever lad and already knows some basic tricks, but would love a family who can teach him some new ones to help keep him busy and build his confidence.

Cocker Spaniel Puppy Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Cocker Spaniel.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Cocker Spaniel Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
