Dickie's ideal home
Dickie is a lovely 1-year-and-4-month-old boy who can be a little conflicted when meeting new people at first. Give him a little time and space, and he soon warms up, especially when people are calm and allow him to approach at his own pace. Once comfortable, Dickie is a friendly and affectionate character. He is confident and excitable when meeting other dogs and enjoys having doggy walking buddies and being able to have a good run off lead. However, Dickie needs to be the only pet in his new home, as although he enjoys canine company, he likes his independence and isn't keen on sharing his toys. He cannot live with cats, other dogs or small furries. Dickie can live with children of secondary-school age who understand how to give him space when needed.

Dickie has medium-to-high energy levels, which are typical of his breed, and he is looking for an active family who can provide plenty of exercise, enrichment and exciting adventures. He loves getting out and about, exploring new places on walks and using his fantastic nose for brain games and scent-based activities. His new family should be prepared to keep him mentally and physically stimulated and continue helping him build his confidence and independence. Dickie can currently be left for small periods of time, but this will need to be gradually increased so that he can learn to be comfortable being left for longer periods.
