Codie
About This Dog
Codie's ideal home
Codie is a handsome 10-year-old Spaniel cross who is looking for his forever retirement home alongside his best friend, Bella. The pair have lived together in a home for the past 7 years and are very closely bonded, so they are hoping to be rehomed together through no fault of their own. Codie is the more confident of the two and generally copes better with new situations. He happy when meeting new dogs however as Bella can be reactive, they may be best suited for walks in quieter areas. While he can be a little whiny in the car, he still hops in happily and travels well overall. Codie can be left for a few hours with a radio on for company, although this may need to be built up again in a new home. He knows his basic commands, including sit, lie down, and give paw/high five. Codie is a friendly, affectionate boy who would be a wonderful companion in a peaceful home, especially with Bella by his side as they enjoy their golden years together.
Could you be Codie's perfect match?
This dog is currently being rehomed under our Homestay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Homestay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with owners to minimise the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative suitable dog.
