About This Dog for Adoption
George's ideal home
If you are looking for a charming, well-mannered companion, George could be the one for you. At 10 years old, this Cocker Spaniel is full of life and loves his walks, toys, and spending time with his people. He is friendly towards visitors and has previously lived with children, so would be happy in a home with youngsters aged 5 years and over. George would be best as the only dog in the home but is happy to have canine friends when out and about. He has also lived with a cat in the past. His new family should be comfortable muzzling him for vet visits, as this is essential for his wellbeing.
Could you be George's perfect match?
George is a sociable, affectionate boy who enjoys a game of fetch, a tug toy session, and plenty of time out exploring on walks. He is housetrained, knows “sit” and “down,” and travels well in the car, hopping in without hesitation. He can be left for a couple of hours once he is settled into his new home. He may be a little vocal in new environments, but easily calmed with a fuss or a treat.
George will bring companionship, joy, and the kind of loyal friendship only a senior spaniel can give. This dog is currently being rehomed under our Home Stay scheme. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when the ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Home Stay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with the owners to minimised the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative dog.
