Max
About This Dog
Max's ideal home
Max is hoping to find a calm home where he can spend lots of time with his favourite people and enjoy mini adventures. He would prefer to be the only dog in the home although he is happy to say hello to canine friends out and about he isn't too bothered about interacting. He can live with children upper primary school aged and small furries if separate but no cats.
His dream family will have minimal leaving hours with a view to build up slowly as he can be worried when left on his own. In foster he has managed up to two hours once he was settled but we don't think he would ever be comfortable being left for long periods. Ideally adopters will have the ability to separate him from the front door when delivery drivers or visitors knock on but if he is given space he warms up very quickly to new people in the home.
Max does prefer to sleep in the bedroom if possible although he will settle downstairs if needed. He likes to be as close as he can be to his people.
Could you be Max's perfect match?
Our handsome boy Max is a 9 year old Cockerpoo who is super sweet and laid back once he's settled into the home. He can be a little nervous initially meeting new people but it only takes him few minutes (and a few treats!) for him to become your friend. He's very affectionate with people he knows and loves to cuddle up on the sofa for a snuggle.
He's a dream in the home and will happily snooze by your feet or sunbathe in the garden whilst you're working from home. He loves his walks especially if there's lots of nice things for him to smell and he walks very well on the lead. In his older age he does have the start of arthritis and so a couple of 30 minute walks a day are plenty for him and he is on a long-term anti-inflammatory medication for this.
He loves his food and enrichment and is great in the car for adventures further afield. He is currently in one of our wonderful foster homes.
