Meet Alvin, our handsome 1-year-old Cocker Spaniel. This sweet and lovely lad may be a little shy at first, as new places and unfamiliar faces can feel a bit overwhelming for him, but with a little patience and understanding, Alvin soon lets his playful, cheeky personality shine through.
Alvin takes great comfort and confidence from other dogs, so he’s looking for a home with a pre-existing dog who can help show him the ropes and reassure him as he settles in. Once he feels safe, Alvin is full of fun and affection and loves being close to his people.
Because of his sensitive nature, Alvin would be best suited to a calm home with children aged 16+ who can understand when he needs a little space and quiet time. His future family will also need to be committed to building a bond slowly, with multiple visits to the centre before he heads home, helping Alvin feel secure and comfortable every step of the way.
As a young dog, Alvin still has lots to learn and will need ongoing support with his basic training, including housetraining and learning how to cope with being left alone for short periods. With kindness, routine, and encouragement, this lovely boy has all the potential to blossom into a wonderful companion.
