About This Dog for Adoption

Henry's ideal home

Henry is a six-year-old Cocker Spaniel. He is looking to be the only dog in the home. He has no history with cats, small furries or livestock. Henry will need a home with adults and no visiting children. He would best suit a quiet home environment; he is nervous with visitors initially and after a short introduction he is fine. Adopters may need to come to the centre to meet Henry a couple of times to build up a friendship before he goes home, with a calm, gentle nature and treats it doesn’t take long! He is housetrained. He travels well in the car. He is a keen walker and can therefore be strong on his lead at times. Henry is content being home alone for a few hours if this time is built up gradually.

Could you be Henry's perfect match?

Once you have a bond with Henry, you’ll find him to be affectionate and a big lover of a fuss and bum-scratches. Henry knows a sit and he has good recall. He would best suit rural walks as he loves a good explore by sniffing. He enjoys finding some mud to have a good roll around in and he likes to dip in water. Such fun! He dislikes walks in busy high street areas. He would love to find a home where he can enjoy learning new tricks using positive reward training – Great mental stimulation. Henry loves to chase after a ball and in the evenings he adores chilling and snuggling on the sofa with his trusted humans.
