About This Dog for Adoption

Doogle's ideal home

Five-year-old Doogle is a charismatic little chap with a fun-loving nature, a bright brain, and plenty of energy. He’s a friendly boy when meeting new people but can become over-aroused when excited or when in unfamiliar situations, leading him to hump. As such, he’ll need a family who are prepared to manage this sensibly, by providing him with alternative outlets to calm down. Doogle could share his home with older primary-school aged children, who won’t be worried when he becomes overexcited. Happy to greet most dogs on his walks, Doogle could possibly live with a well-suited canine companion who could match his temperment. He is currently residing in a temporary foster home, and his carers have found him to be an excellent houseguest, who is both polite and housetrained. Ultimately, he’d love to find equally active adopters, who could involve him in all the family fun, while offering him their affection.

Could you be Doogle's perfect match?

Doogle’s most-loved pastimes include exploring the countryside for sniffy adventures, receiving lots of love and attention from his people pals, working on his training, and engaging in a game of ‘fetch and swap’. This playful pooch is a big fan of his toys but has been known to shred the softer types, so hard or rubber toys would be best.

Cocker Spaniel Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Cocker Spaniel.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".
  • Seller asks to immediately switch to communication off the Cocker Spaniel Owners website
  • Seller uses a different phone number to the one listed on the website - especially if that phone number is in one of the advert images

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
