Freddy

4 months

Freddy's ideal home

Friendly in his nature, Freddy is a gentle senior chap who’s seeking a relaxing retirement home, where he could relish the company of a loving family. Being an older boy, he prefers the quieter side of life and would best be suited to a home with secondary-school aged children, who could be respectful of his space and understanding that he’d like to spend much of his time resting. While happy to mooch where other calm canines are roaming, Freddy has never had to share his space and much prefers the company of humans, so he’ll need to be the only pet at home. Although he is good at being left for short periods once settled into his new routine, Freddy adores the company of his humans and would spend every second by their side if he could. He’s used to sleeping in the bedroom with his people pals at night and will likely follow you around the house like a little shadow to see what you’re getting up to in the initial stages. Freddy is housetrained and will politely let you know that he needs the toilet by nuzzling into your side.

Could you be Freddy's perfect match?

Despite his age, Freddy still enjoys keeping active and is especially fond of his walks! He is currently having three shorter walks a day as this seems to suit him better rather than a couple of longer walks. He becomes very excitable at the sight of his harness and lead and loves a good sniff about. While he isn’t usually so fussed about his toys, he does like to pick up his favourite soft-starfish toy and carry it around in his mouth with a wiggly bottom when he’s about to go on adventure. Freddy is a very affectionate boy and LOVES all the fuss and attention he can get. He likes to get close to you, either by sitting on your feet, or right next to you on the sofa in the evening whilst you're watching TV.

Cocker Spaniel Buying Checklist

We highly recommend every buyer reads through the below advice when purchasing or rehoming a Cocker Spaniel.

  • View the animal in the place it was born and raised - check for genuine home environments if buying privately, or the quality of the breeders set-up if applicable.
  • If viewing a puppy under 8 weeks, by law they MUST be seen with their mum.
  • Make sure the animal's old enough to be rehomed. 8 weeks should be the earliest a puppy can be rehomed.
  • By law, all dogs MUST be microchipped
  • Review and verify any documents, such as KC registration paperwork where applicable

Avoid Potential Scams

There are a number of red flags to look out for when purchasing a new puppy:

  • Seller demands a deposit without allowing you to see the dog first - never send any money before meeting the animal in person
  • Seller is reluctant to send you additional photos or videos
  • Seller offers to deliver the dog/puppy
  • Seller asks to meet in a mutual location
  • Seller uses fake or stolen photos from the internet. Always carry out a "Google image search".

Although we have a number of automated systems in place to prevent scam and fraudulant adverts, these can never be 100% accurate and its important to use caution when buying online. We do not accept any responsibility for transactions between our users, especially when our safe buying advice is not followed.
